BEYOND PROSCENIUM1994

Railings, steps, platforms, screens now became actual objects. Their arrangement served as obstruction for free viewing. The figuration and colours added to the experience of silence, evoking uneasiness and tension. The objects also evoked theatrical ambiance. The actors, dancers and musicians responded to the colours and the figures in the installation and further extended the mood of the work through sound, movement and rhythm. This was the first attempt towards experimentation by incorporating and blurring the boundaries of different disciplines to stretch the language for articulation.
